I received a free copy of the eBook Green Smoothies: The Weight Loss and Detox Secret by Jonathan Vine. The book has over 50 recipes and a lot of tips about making smoothies and what to add.

The boys love smoothies; Connor especially because he knows they are healthy. We had fun trying out the smoothie recipes. Here are a few that we tried:

Apple and Spinach

This had apple, spinach, yogurt, honey, ginger, and lemon.

We liked this one but I thought that the yogurt flavor was a little too strong so I started putting less than called for in other recipes.

Minty Avocado

The ingredients here are avocado, yogurt, almond milk, mint, and agave nectar.

This one had a nice color and smelled really good but I did not like it at all. Apparently I don't like the flavor of almond milk. I also think it needed more avocado.

We also liked this one but it would have been better with a sweeter watermelon. You could really taste the coconut in this.

Arugula and Raspberry

This one is Arugula, raspberry, yogurt, agave nectar, and fresh orange juice. This one was okay but I didn't like the taste of the Arugula in the smoothie. Next time I would use spinach instead. The boys did not like this one at all.

Spiced Pumpkin

This one was made with pumpkin, ginger, pear, maple syrup, fresh orange juice, and yogurt.

This one was surprisingly good. Connor tried a pumpkin smoothie at a smoothie place before and we did not like this. I think since I used fresh raw pumpkin that may have made a difference. The pear flavor also went really well in this.

These are just a few of the many recipes in this book. We didn’t love everything we tried but these recipes make great starters and can be easily altered if you find you don’t like something. You also might be surprised that you really enjoy a certain combination that you didn’t think you would like. With so many options in this book everyone is bound to find some good recipes to enjoy.

Here is the link for the eBook on Amazon. Go take a look and if you decide to get the book let me know what your favorite smoothie combinations are.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
