**My Review**

I really enjoyed reading John Bloom and the Victory Garden: Digging In. We typically read and review fantasy and have never really read a historical fiction so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This book is a fun and very interesting read. There is plently of history facts in the story and I found myself wanting to look up more about some of the things that were mentioned. The book follows John Bloom and his friends. Together they are the America Boys Club, or Sullivan’s Crew later in the book. The boys with the help of their friend, 90 year old Mr. Hutchins, build a Victory Garden and try to do their part to help America in the war. The book is the second in a series. I believe that if you wanted you could read this without having to read the first book. While reading you will get some of the backstory from the first book. However, I did read the first book and highly recommend reading both. Both books are fun and have you wanting to read more. John Bloom and the Victory Garden: Digging In end with “THE END (for now)…” I look forward to more adventures with John Bloom and his friends.

  1. I’m so happy you enjoyed a book outside your normal genre. I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to expect of a historical fiction book for kids when I read the first one, but the author does a wonderful job of capturing her readers’ attention. It’s funny that you looked up stuff from the book because I did exactly the same thing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the book.
