Warner Bros. Studio Tour- Stage 48

Stage 48 is the halfway point of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Burbank, California. During the first part of the tour, we explored the backlots and sound stages. If you haven’t yet, you can check out our experience here.

Inside Stage 48 is a large Friends gift shop, Central Perk Cafe, and the Script to Screen exhibit.

We decided to start off with a snack from Central Perk Cafe. The cafe sells a few hot lunch items like sandwiches, pizza, and hot dogs as well as bakery items. We ordered cheesecake, a bagel, and Mexican Cokes.

There are 4 pictures inside Stage 48 at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour.
Top Left- 2 teen boys at Central Perk Cafe. One is behind the counter and 1 is on a stool in front of the counter.
Top Right- Teen boy with a Mexican Coke.
Bottom Left- Teen boy with a Mexican Coke.
Bottom Right- Central Perk Cafe Menu Board with a selection of pastries underneath the menu and a selection of drinks underneath the pastry case.

Once we were done with our snack, we went into the Script to Screen exhibit. The exhibit started off with a lot of costumes as well as displays on the various parts of production. The boys also designed their own Batmobiles.

The next part of the exhibit featured a lot of interactive displays. We sat a table that demonstrates forced perspective like with Gandalf and Frodo in Lord of the Rings. We also controlled Dobby from Harry Potter using motion capture and recorded audio from Harry Potter. This section also had several green screen activities, like riding a broom, as well as the Friends and Big Bang Theory sets.

After exploring Stage 48, we headed back outside to wait for another tour cart. The first stop once you hop on the cart is the sofa and fountain from Friends. If you want, you can get out here to take a picture. The cart only stops briefly to let people out and pick others up so if you opt for the picture, you’ll take another cart once you’re done. We chose not to get out and just headed straight to the last part of the tour, Action and Magic Made Here.

Have you ever been on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour? What would you be most excited about: seeing the costumes or learning about the production process?
