Christmas in Grapevine

After having lunch in the gingerbread house at the Great Wolf Lodge, we headed into downtown Grapevine.

First we went to the Settlement to City Museums. We started off at the Grapevine Historical Museum which is housed inside the Grapevine Ice House. There was a really nice lady inside. She told us all about the ice house that used to be there and gave us a little tour around the rest of the museum. When we were done there, she sent us off to the house and the schoolhouse where the Christmas crafts were located. There was also the Cotton Ginners Museum but it had been pouring rain while we were there so we just ran back to the car at the point.

After a little while and once it had stopped raining, we headed to the Visitor Information Center. The first thing I noticed was that there was a tree decorated with cotton. I noticed this because we had been seeing tons fields of cotton on our drive that we had never seen before. We’ve drove through this area many times but I guess never when the cotton is blooming.

The Visitor Information Center also had a nice miniature train display that we took a look at.

There was another exhibit that we didn’t get a chance to look at. I don’t remember what it was; I didn’t really look. We had to leave at that point and I was hoping to make it back the next day to check it out. We did go back to Grapevine the next day but we weren’t able to make it back to the Visitor Information Center. What we did do the next day was go to the Gaylord Texan for some snow tubing and a Christmas themed escape game.
