Abilene CALF 2017 Day 1

2017’s featured illustrator was Garth Williams.

Our first day at the festival was short because we started off in the evening at Wilbur’s Garden Party. The party took place at the new Adamson-Spalding Storybook Garden at the Abilene Convention Center. This is where all the new storybook sculptures were added.

We didn’t do much at the party, but the boys were excited to see Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice set up for the party. We headed there straight away for their annual Italian ice.

We also got some barbecue from one of the food trucks before heading back to our hotel to get ready for day 2.
