Where Connor and JT Go Texas,Travel Sweet Berry Farm’s Harvest of Fall Fun

Sweet Berry Farm’s Harvest of Fall Fun

We haven’t been able to make it out to many Halloween/Fall events this year, but we did manage to make it to one- the Harvest of Fall Fun at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls.

We try to go to different pumpkin patches each year, and I think this is one of the best that we’ve been to. We started out the day by wandering through the pumpkins while we decided what we wanted to do first.

We ended up buying some water and getting tickets for the Scarecrow Island Hayride and the Berry Bounce. To get to the hayride, we had to go to the other side of the farm which required walking through a tunnel under the highway.

Once we got to the other side, we got in line for the hayride and said hi to the goats. The hayride itself was about 15 minutes or so and takes you through the woods where there are scarecrows set up in different scenes. According to their website, there are 211 of them. We saw superhero scarecrows, trick or treating scarecrows, minion scarecrows, and so many more.

Also on that side of the farm are the flower fields, the barrel train, and the Texas maze. We wanted to go into the Texas maze but it was just too hot for that so we decided to do the pick your own flowers. I think there were about 3 or 4 different types of flowers in the fields. I’m not sure what they were but they’re really pretty. We had never done pick your own flowers before so it was really fun.

After a lunch break, the boys were reenergized and ready to play on the Berry Bounce. There are two Berry Bounces, one for smaller kids and one for the bigger kids. I think the one for smaller kids was just a little lower than the big kid bounce. The time limit for the bounce was 8 minutes. This was plenty of time for the boys, especially in the heat.

Do you want to build a scarecrow? That is where we headed to next. We’ve seen scarecrow building at other pumpkin patches, but they are usually just scarecrows that you get to dress up. Sweet Berry Farm actually lets you fully build and take home a scarecrow. This is one of the pricier activities but the ticket is per scarecrow and everyone can work together on one.

To build a scarecrow, you start off by heading into the Stuff A Scarecrow store to pick out a pair of pants and a shirt. The pants and shirt are included in the cost but they also have extra accessories you can buy like hats, glasses, patches, belts, and scarves.

Once you’ve picked out your scarecrow’s outfit, it’s time to stuff it with hay. This is probably what takes the longest. You really need to use a lot of hay to get the scarecrow completely stuffed. After our scarecrow’s shirt and pants were stuffed, they helped us staple the scarecrow together. The last thing we needed to do was make the head. Connor drew a simple scarecrow face and then we stuffed it and stapled it to the shirt. We added a hat and a bandana and then our scarecrow was done! His name is Benny.

The only thing left that we really wanted to do was feed the goats. We purchased some feed and then went to feed them at their playground. The playground has a bridge from one side to the other and I really wanted to see a goat cross the bridge. After the boys were out of feed, we stood back for a few minutes to wait and one of them finally crossed the bridge. We were ready to leave after feeding the goats but first we had to purchase our pumpkins and spaghetti squash.

Sweet Berry Farm was so much fun! I love that they charge per activity rather than charging an admission. This allowed us to be able to leave for lunch and then come back to enjoy the rest of our day. If you get a chance, I definitely recommend going to check out Sweet Berry Farm.
